Krys Evans

Krys is a multi award winning teacher with many years experience. Her quilts have been exhibited in the United Kingdom and the United States.

Krys is a textiles graduate and her early career was varied although working with textiles was always there in the background.

She has taught in both further education and the British school system and ran a successful Patchwork and Quilting business in London.

Her quilts are recognizable by her respect for the tradition of the craft, coupled with a flair for the use colour.

Her teaching style is patient and thorough with a sense of humour thrown in for good measure. She has seen many of her students enter the textile industry in a variety of roles.

Her students commend that it was her "inspirational teaching" that developed their own love of Patchwork and Quilting.

KE02 Reverse Appliqué with a Twist

Appliqué with a Twist

Just when you thought you knew everything there is to know about an appliqué, here comes a great idea.

This method of reverse appliqué draws on the tradition of South American Molas but uses a strip pieced under layer or “crazy layer”.

The quilting and stitching can be primitive or fine depending on the effect you require.

Join Krys to learn this intriguing method which opens up numerous possibilities!
