E.M.Q.E Founders

E.M.Q.E is a very new organisation that has responded to the growing needs of the longarm community in Europe .

Beryl Cadman and Tracey Pereira, both award-winning quilters in their own right joined forces to create EMQE to satisfy this need.

Beryl Cadman was born and lived in Australia until she came to Ireland in 1997. A keen patchworker Beryl imported the first longarm into Europe and subsequently became a distributor in 2000. She has been actively involved in longarm education since this time. Beryl has won numerous awards in the UK and Europe and her quilts have been exhibited all over the world including Yokohama in Japan.

Beryl is an accredited Longarm teacher having received recognised training from Americas Linda Taylor. Most recently she was invited to teach at the Festival of Quilts 2006 in Houston . Here she taught several classes and received very positive reviews.

Tracey Pereira lives in the South of England and purchased her machine after developing a taste for quilting during a 3 year spell living in San Jose – USA . Tracey and her family returned to the UK during the summer of 2000 – her machine arriving before the furniture! Since this time Tracey has won numerous awards in the UK , developed patterns and booklets and taught at a number of patchwork shops through England.

Unfortunately due to family commitments Tracey has had to retire from the day to day running of European Machine Quilters Expo. She still remains committed to the goals and future of E.M.Q.E.

Beryl is very excited about EMQE and has already successfully completed the 2009 event and is constantly striving to introduce more events as their success so far has been unprecedented.

If you have any views or comments on what you would like in these retreats Beryl would love to hear from you. Comments may be submitted via E-mail.
